The residents of Royal Docks, members of the Royal British Legion and local councillors will commemorate Remembrance Sunday on 11th November 2012.
Wreaths will be laid to remember those fallen and injured at St Mark’s Memorial in the grounds of Brick Lane Music Hall, Factory Road, North Woolwich, at 10.55am.
You are welcome to join the Royal British Legion parade which will start around 10.30am from nearby Constance Street and head to the memorial.
Remembrance Sunday is held on the second Sunday in November, which is the Sunday nearest to 11 November Armistice Day the anniversary of the end of hostilities in the First World War at 11 a.m. in 1918. Remembrance Sunday is held “to commemorate the contribution of British and Commonwealth military and civilian servicemen and women in the two World Wars and later conflicts”.
